Why I Started Writing
Every day, I’m surrounded by other people’s points of view and knowledge. It comes through social media posts, emails, conversations, and, of course, blogs. Everyone has something to say. I read some of it, not all, time is limited. I connect with some voices more than others, and that’s okay. We all have the right to express ourselves and share.
I’m no different.
I have things to say too. And maybe it’s time I shared some of them. If you could only hear the full conversation that goes on in my head…
As an experienced Classical Pilates teacher, I’ve observed, learned, and gained a deep understanding through years of practice and teaching. Over time, I’ve seen bodies change, confidence grow, and people discover what they are truly capable of. This blog is a place for me to reflect on those experiences and put them into words.
Not a Natural Writer — A Lifelong Learner
I’m not a natural writer. I am, however, a natural overthinker. By the time I finally sit down to write, I’ve often already moved on from the thoughts I wanted to share. It’s not a lack of focus, I simply never enjoyed writing growing up, so I never really exercised this skill.
Starting this blog is part of changing that. It’s about developing a new skill, stepping outside my comfort zone, and giving myself permission to learn in public. It requires discipline, effort, and patience, qualities that are just as important in writing as they are in movement.
Why Now?
The honest answer is that I don’t have a perfectly logical one. I simply have a strong feeling that it’s time.
Time to slow down. Time to reflect. Time to create space in an overloaded mind.
I’m hoping that writing will help me organise my thoughts, deepen my understanding, learn something new about myself, and stay connected to what matters most in my work. Even if only a few people read these words at first, the process itself is already worthwhile.
What You’ll Find Here
This blog is not about comparison. It’s not about trends. And it’s certainly not about trying to appear smarter or more important than anyone else.
It is about:
- Classical Pilates and why it matters
- Movement, awareness, and learning to listen to your body
- Teaching, learning, and lifelong practice
- Motivation, resilience, lasting strength
- Kindness, and encouragement
- Reflections from the studio floor
Everything shared here comes from lived experience, ongoing study, and daily practice.
If something resonates with you, take it. If it doesn’t, that’s okay too.
A Personal Journey
Life is a personal journey. So is Pilates. So is learning how to move, think, and live well in your own body.
This blog is part of my own journey, as a teacher, a student, and a lifelong mover. It is a space for curiosity, honesty, and growth.
A Note on Technology and Support
Yes, I use modern tools — including ChatGPT — to help organise ideas and refine my writing. But the texts, thoughts, reflections, and perspectives shared here are mine. Along with all the discomfort, uncertainty, and growth that comes with putting them into words.
An Invitation
If you are curious about thoughtful movement, committed practice, and building strength that lasts, you are very welcome here.
Thank you for reading. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
